About this site

Most pages about tattoo meanings read like they were written by someone who has never been in a studio. A list of adjectives, a bit of mythology, no sources, and never an answer to the question people actually came with.

How a page here is built

Every design gets the same treatment. Where the symbol comes from, with dates and names where they exist. What people read into it today, taken from what the community actually discusses, not from other meaning sites. The variants that change the reading. And the practical part: what holds, what fades, how small is too small.

Meanings are attributed, not asserted. If a reading is popular but undocumented, it says so. If a design carries a history that could get you misread, that comes before the nice part, not after it.

Who runs it

tattoo-meaning.com is a project by tathood, a platform where people browse tattoo artists by style and city and see their healed work. Most of the artists on it are in Europe right now, so if you are in the US, treat it as a place to study portfolios rather than to book. That link is the only thing this site sells, and it says so at the bottom of every page.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, especially about a culture, a community or a symbol that is not ours to explain, say so and it gets fixed.
